The late top fashion designer Alexander McQueen had a gift for bringing out some of the best ladies fashion ideas from that prolonged style extravaganza known as the 80s. In recent celeb news, both Vanessa Williams and  Jennifer Hudson rocked an electric blue Alexander McQueen dress. With a plunging neckline, fitted waist, and artful draping around the sleeves and hips, this look made us forget all about those gigantic shouldered power suits that traumatized us every time we turned on Dynasty.

Williams wore the hot number to a Broadway opening in NYC, adding another staple of the early to mid-80s: a skinny belt, the better to accent her waist. She kept her fashion accessories simple, with black peep-toed pumps, a black clutch, and simple silver earrings.

In May, Jennifer Hudson rocked the same dress at the Cannes Film Festival, but went for a bolder look. With some awesome black ankle-strap platform shoes and a bold cuff bracelet, she kept the number of accessories low, but chose ones that packed a punch.

Right, so which fashion star do you think wore this celebrity fashion style better? Vanessa Williams with her sweet and simple approach, or Jennifer Hudson, who chose accessories with plenty of “pow”?

Well, if you ask me, I’d be happy to look as hot as either of these ladies any day of the week, but in this case, I’d give the edge to Ms. Hudson. I won’t lie, it’s the shoes. If I had legs like that, I’d buy a pair and wear them with everything for the next 10 years. What about you?
